Bohemian Style: Mixing Mexicali With What’s Already In Your Closet

Effortless hippie chic style is so easy to create when you integrate Mexicali pieces into the wardrobe you already own; a few well-chosen accessories can up the elegance of a playful skirt, or bring fashionable fierceness to a funky cotton dress!  Here are some of our favorite easy ways to change up your look with things you already own:

patchdressbeltBelt it!  Carly chose a laid-back leather belt with our polka dot patch dress for a seriously boho vibe, but you can also fancy up any casual dress if you go with something with a bit of sparkle, like a slim gold belt, or a wide elastic one with an elaborate buckle. Don’t be afraid to experiment!  Carly also embraces the hippie vibe of this adorable outfit with the organic seaside style of our hooked shells necklace–we love jewelry made of natural materials like wood or shells to make any outfit exotically earthy!

patchdressMake it urban chic with a trendy jacket, big hoop earrings, and a pashmina scarf.  The exact same dress has a completely different attitude with a simple accessory swap!

batikskirtcardiganEven the funkiest of flouncy skirts can easily transform from sassy to classy with a sweet and simple cardigan.  Wearing your favorite cardi with a fun skirt like our batik gypsy mini skirt brings the whimsy of the skirt down to earth, while keeping the cardigan from looking too matronly.  It’s the perfect balance!

ImageAdding a wide belt to a flirty mini skirt is a great way to get the sleek look of a high-waisted skirt, without the uncomfortable tightness over the belly.  We love this look with a top tucked in, highlighting a favorite retro tee or a solid top accented by a bold necklace, as Carly is doing here with our Goddess chain necklace.

Hopefully these outfits inspire you!  How do you integrate Mexicali clothing or accessories into the rest of your wardrobe?  Tell us your tips or share your awesome photos on our Facebook page; if we like your ideas, we just might feature YOU here on our blog!
